Rehabilitating Mary’s husband in the prequel added depth to his character, making his death more heartbreaking to watch. However, Young Sheldon season 7 made it utterly gut-wrenching, as George was on the cusp of living the life he long dreamed of.
Just before he died in Young Sheldon, George was about to change jobs after being offered a spot on Rice’s coaching staff. The family was going to move to Houston, marking a new beginning for them. Most importantly, his relationships were finally all in good places, particularly his marriage, which had its ups and downs, especially in recent years.
