Lance Barber's on-screen daughter Raegan Revord pays tribute to George in new Young Sheldon series finale images. Despite continuously being at the top of ratings, Sheldon and the Coopers' collective story will wrap up with an emotional last hour. On the heels of George's death in Young Sheldon season 7, episode 12, "A New Home and a Traditional Texas Torture," his family is left to deal with the aftermath of the unexpected loss during the first half of the send-off. The tragedy is difficult for everyone, but Missy may be taking it the hardest.

Off-screen, Revord is also having a difficult time saying goodbye to George in the special one-hour Young Sheldon finale as she pays tribute to him in an emotional social media post.

The TikTok post features a string of photos of Revord and Barber on and off camera as they play George and Missy throughout seven years of Young Sheldon. Its most gut-wrenching image, however, shows Missy looking down on George who is lying in his casket during the memorial.

How George’s Death Impacts Missy’s Future

George's Death Is Particularly Difficult For Missy

Each member of the Cooper family will have their regrets in light of the unexpected death of George. That being said, it will be particularly interesting how Missy will respond to the tragedy as the reality of it sinks in. She has always had a special bond with her father, with their dynamic initially established during the iconic Red Lobster date scene, which Revord references in her aforementioned post. After a difficult year, Missy also promised George that she would redeem herself in the Young Sheldon season 6 finale, which she has kept.

To make things worse, the morning before George's death, he offered to drive Missy to school, but she refused, saying that she would just catch the bus.

To make things worse, the morning before George's death, he offered to drive Missy to school, but she refused, saying that she would catch the bus. Little did she know that she was turning down the chance to spend one final drive with her dad. Given these, it's safe to say that George's death will haunt Missy for a very long time. It's likely even the reason why she will go back to her rebellious ways and fail to reach her full potential, as revealed by adult Georgie in The Big Bang Theory.

It's unclear if Revord will play Missy again beyond Young Sheldon. However, CBS has the chance to continue her story if she joins Georgie and Mandy's spinoff series, which will premiere as part of CBS' 2024-2025 schedule. The actor has said she wasn't asked to partake, but Missy still has so much story left to tell that she should return in the offshoot.
